Royalty-Free Music FAQ
If I purchase a track, do I own it?
No. Vivid Sound sells licenses for tracks. Vivid Sound retains the ownership, but the license allows for various types of non-commercial usages.
Do I need to pay royalties?
No. Our license is royalty-free, meaning you pay a one-time fee for ongoing use as specified in the agreement.
Do I need to credit Vivid Sound when I use the music?
It is not required that you credit Vivid Sound.. However, we love to hear and see the works that feature our content! Please feel free to tag us on socials or let us know via other means about all the ways you are utilizing our music!
Can I use Vivid Sound music in monetized YouTube videos or fundraisers?
Yes, you can use our music in monetized online content (like YouTube videos) and in promotional materials for your organization's events, fundraisers, or mission-related products. The key is that any revenue generated must benefit your non-profit organization. You cannot use our music to promote or sell products/services of any for-profit company.
What can I use Vivid Sound's music for?
Our music is licensed for non-commercial use by churches, ministries, and faith-based non-profit organizations. You can use it in video productions, social media content, podcasts, training videos, for general facility playback, special events, and similar purposes.
Can I share the music with others outside my organization?
No. The license is for use within your organization only. You cannot distribute, share, or give the music to individuals or entities outside your organization.
How long does the license last?
The license is perpetual, meaning you can use the music indefinitely under the terms of the agreement.
What if I'm unsure if my intended use complies with the license?
If you're unsure, please contact us before using the music. We're happy to clarify any points of the agreement.
Are there any restrictions on how I can use the music?
Yes. The music must be used for non-political, family-friendly content only. It should not be used for commercial purposes or in any way that could damage Vivid Sound's reputation.
Can I edit the music?
You can make simple edits necessary for incorporating the music into your projects, such as adjusting length, volume, or fading. However, you cannot create remixes, adaptations, or other derivative works.
Is there a limit to how many times I can use a purchased track?
No. Once purchased, you can use the track as many times as you like within your organization, as long as it's in accordance with the other terms of the license.
